What a slug has to be
checked as you typeLength3 to 32 characters. Shorter names are too easy to walk through in bulk.
CharactersLowercase letters, digits, underscore and hyphen. The first character must be a letter or a digit.

api, cannot be claimed as a link.CollisionsA name that is already live cannot be reused. Once its link expires the name is free again, seven days after it was made.
