Privacy Policy

1. The short version

shortn has no sign-up, no accounts, no cookies, no newsletter, and no analytics. We store only what you type into the shortener — nothing about you.

2. What we store

When you shorten a link, we keep four things in Cloudflare's KV storage (the LINKS namespace):

the destination URL you submitted,
the slug you were given (or chose),
when the link was created, and
how many times it has been clicked.

Short links and their click counts are public — anyone can see them on the homepage or by visiting the link. Treat anything you shorten as visible to the world.

3. What we don't store

We don't store your name, email address, password, or browsing history. The site sets no cookies of its own. No analytics tool runs on shortn — the banner ads are self-hosted rotating banners with no trackers, and there are no third-party ad networks loaded.

4. What your browser shares automatically

Like every website, your requests reach Cloudflare's edge servers, which may log your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for. That is standard infrastructure behavior, covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy — we don't collect, read, or mine those logs.

5. Third parties

The QR code generator loads from cdnjs, a Cloudflare CDN. Everything else — the page, the API, the storage — is served by shortn's own Cloudflare Worker and KV namespace. No ad scripts, no tracking pixels, no social widgets are embedded.

6. Keeping and deleting data

Links stay in KV until they are deleted — there is no expiry. Because there is no account, there is no "delete my account" button, but you can ask us to remove any link: contact the operator at github.com/justsadnyx-ux with the short URL. If you are covered by GDPR, CCPA, or a similar law, use the same channel to exercise access, correction, or deletion rights.

7. Children

shortn is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The latest version is always at shortn.pages.dev/privacy/.
